In oil and gas engineering, piping systems transport pressurized oil and gas between refineries and markets (ports). Commercial CAD software has been developed to analyze these piping systems to ensure they don't fail. As an example, piping system can be modelled using CAD software to predict pressure changes, vibrations, and temperature variations. Oil and gas engineers use these analyses to build safe and operational piping systems.
